Alejandro Ahumada
Biography
Alejandro has navigated his life between changes and constancies, embarking on a journey from the hills of Valparaíso, Chile, to the green valleys of Cantabria, Spain. His life, marked by resilience and wonder, unfolds along a path from political asylum to discovery, always balancing adventure with reflection.
Due to the political persecution of the Pinochet dictatorship, his mother was forced to go into exile with him when he was only thirteen. Seeking refuge in the United Kingdom, they found the promise of a new beginning, first in Scotland and then in Nottingham, England.
Each place on his journey — from Falkirk in Scotland, passing through Nottingham, a period in Madrid, then arriving in Dublin, followed by Bois d’Arcy in France and Getxo in the Basque Country — has woven his story. Settled in Cantabria with his wife and his cat, Déjà Vu. Fatherhood has enriched his journey, with two children who perpetuate his vision of life. In his career as a computer engineer, Alejandro has forged a mind that balances logic with creativity, applying these skills to all areas of his life.
As a citizen of this planet, Alejandro understands ecology not only as a passion but as a cornerstone of his political values, a vision that permeates his way of interacting with the world, both in observation and in action.
Being an avid reader of science fiction and fantasy, inspired by the minds of Neil Gaiman, Isabel Allende, Terry Pratchett, and Ursula Le Guin, Alejandro’s life is a canvas where reality merges with the magical, a vibrant testimony that life, in its purest essence, transcends mere existence to touch the extraordinary. His experiences, a tapestry of cultures, knowledge, and dreams, manifest a personal magical realism, where every experience, every place, and every encounter reveals the hidden magic in the everyday.
